おつかれさまでした ナスヴィル!
I wanted to be able to write-in “Aw Hell Naw” but it wasn’t possible, so now say it with me in your best Will Smith imitation.
Conventional political wisdom foretold the victory, though. As much as journalists and bloggers were on about English Only, most people did not really care, and the 9 or 10% turnout [...]

I had my head down listening to Little Dork chattering on as we entered the Bellevue YMCA last night. As we entered I noticed a rather non-descript gentleman meandering through the glass double doors, in plain grey sweats, shoulders hunched and chin tucked — either in self defense from the chill or in a natural [...]

Eric Crafton, Mr. English Only, doesn’t even have to use the old “my best friends are foreigners” routine to defend himself against accusations of being racist. He married one. At the time they married, he was the foreigner though, when he married his wife in Japan.
I don’t think I’ve ever run into Crafton [...]

Found this in my Email box this morning.

AZN was having difficulty gaining advertisers and distribution. After considerable review of the network’s financial situation, it was decided that it was no longer financially viable.
We [...]

This morning I caught the “world news” section of the Japanese language news program Fujisankei News. Sen. Clinton’s “misstatement” on the sniper fire, or absence thereof, during her landing in Bosnia in 1996 was profiled. They used their own raw footage of the event it appears, because I had not seen the footage anywhere else. [...]

As someone who is supposed to be a music writer, I suppose I should have been watching the grammys. I was at a birthday party for a three year old (you’ll all be there sooner or later, so wipe that bloody smirk off your face) 98 1/2% full of Japanese people. The two older boys [...]

Ex-pats and those abroad in the lovely metropolis of Tokyo voted overwhelmingly for Sen. Obama.

that’s happy new year, basically.
We ate “good luck” food, toshikoshi soba (cold soba noodles with sauce), and prolly mochi in the AM, which is like a few hours from now. We would normally have mikan (similar to a tangerine) but the crop at the local Japanese market seemed a little on the soggy side. Some [...]
