The US side was impressive in just about all points of the game in the first 45 minutes. The Brasil side was frustrated by their inability to penetrate down the center and take players on 1 v 1, evidenced by a lot of shots from 25 ft out or more. While the US didn’t have [...]

Forget Trezeguet missing the penalty. Forget Zizou being sent off on a ghetto foul. Keeping was the difference, and my caveat posted here earlier rang true. Zidane was clear and square and had a great header on goal that Buffon sent flying over the top post. Matzeratti’s similarly struck header went whizzing over Barthez’s head. [...]

It’s been a pretty good tournament despite the piss poor officiating. Some may say the final four was a surprise, however, was it really? Did he say something [...]

Wow, this is amazing. The Dutch have lost all control, and Davids NOR Kluivert are anywhere around. Bottom line is their totally frustrated by being unable to finish, twice now with a man advantage. Now the Portugal goalie is down, acting badly. Get up Ricardo. Jeez.

Well, I begged them not to turn it into a laugher, shikata dayo. Brasil gets Ghana next, and if anyone in the JFA has a brain, Japan will get a new coach. Zico imparted some joca bonito to the Japanese side, however, he could have also imported some Dutch shape and discipline (and kept a [...]

How Brasil is rallying around Ronaldo. Perhaps they wouldn't be doing this if it were the Netherlands and not Japan, but still . . .
