Roy Williams Endorses Barack Obama?

April 29, 2008

In a photo op for the ages, Sen. Obama scrimmaged with the UNC Tar Heels hoops team. While in the middle of the session, Williams joked, “You guys are leaving the next president of the United States wide open.”

Regarding the North Carolina primary, it’s of dubious worth considering there are (sadly) a number of misguided NC State and Duke fans who may be distressed by the photo of Obama in the midst of all that glorious blue. But the video of the session would make a brilliant insert into the next ad that goes up in the state.

Obama (and his supporters) may also want to borrow a chant from college sports considering he’s still leading in polls at the moment. SCOREBOARD!

EDIT: Nice little story from a woman who attended an Obama rally held on the UNC campus.

As an undecided NC democrat, and ardent Heels fan, this goes a long way in my book. Policy ideas? Who cares! I’d like to see Hillary try to drive on Ginyard.

Obama looked so gaunt and frail on the court next to those guys.

And, for the record, I’m still undecided.

I dunno, with those legs Sen Clinton might have unseen MAD hops.

Get off the fence, mate, we need you!

Towards Obama. I know I try to play the role of the distant, neutral pundit however I voted Obama in the primary.

As usual, I get all excited at the beginning thinking about change. Then, the endless media coverage of the most mundane details quashes my interest, and the candidates start talking about whatever crap issue is highest on the CNN “most viewed” list, and real programs and real ideas are backburnered or even dumped altogether.

In short, I lose hope, every time.

Stop watching TV, mt. It’s bad for your health—mental, physical, spiritual.

    And keep hope alive!
